Salmon watchers need on Hylebos Creek

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Have you ever wanted to find out more about salmon on Hylebos Creek? If so, then here is your chance.

The Friends of the Hylebos is recruiting volunteers to join the Salmon Watch program, and monitor Hylebos Creek for returning salmon.

Volunteers agree to watch Hylebos Creek for a minimum of 1 hour (doesn't have to be at the same time) per week at an assigned location, from October through January.

Training will be on October 4, from 10am-2pm, and we will meet at the West Hylebos Wetlands. We will visit a hatchery and creek, so volunteers will have the opportunity to see salmon up close, and ask questions in the field.

Please RSVP by September 21st if you are interested in participating.

Contact Hillary Kleeb, Restoration Coordinator, Friends of the Hylebos at 253.874.2005.
